Qualification Requirements
This item requires engineering source approval by the design control activity due to its flight-critical nature and the need to maintain part quality. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge by qualified sources necessitate acquisition from approved sources. The approved sources retain data rights or technical data not economically available to the Government.
An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. Government source approval is required prior to contract award. Only previously approved sources have been solicited. Unapproved sources must submit detailed information as outlined in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures (Spares: https://www.navsup.navy.mil/NAVSUP-Enterprise/NAVSUP-Weapon-Systems-Support/Business-Opps/). Offers failing to provide required source approval data will not be considered. Award is contingent upon the offeror, product, or manufacturer meeting qualification requirements at the time of award, per FAR clause 52.209-1.
