Quick Summary
The Department of the Navy, NAVSUP FLT LOG CTR SAN DIEGO, on behalf of Maritime Expeditionary Security Group ONE (MESG-1), is soliciting quotes for two (2) kits of 36K Defense Airlift Modular Approach Shoring (DAMAS). This system must be Air Transport Test Loading Activity (ATTLA) certified and rated for 36,000-lb axles with a 3.5-to-one safety factor. This Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity, RFQ N0024426Q0043, aims to replace logistically burdensome legacy wood-based shoring. Quotes are due June 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM Local Time.
Scope of Work
MESG-1 requires a modern, lightweight, aluminum modular approach shoring system that significantly reduces ramp angle, protects aircraft floors, and decreases the logistical footprint. The system must meet ATTLA certification for loading specific assets, including a 40-foot Patrol Boat on a RECON Craft Trailer and a Freightliner M2112 6x6 Stake-Bed Truck, onto Air Force C-17 and C-5 aircraft. Key requirements include:
- Engineered to address ground clearance, low approach angle, and overhang challenges.
- Components contacting the aircraft ramp must have protective integrated materials.
- Construction must be exempt from agricultural customs restrictions.
- Modular, operable, and assemblable by 2-3 personnel within 30 minutes without specialized tools.
- Side-Access Loading Containers must be transportable as palletized cargo and securable on a 463L USAF Cargo Pallet or aircraft floor.
- If the vendor's product is not ATTLA certified, the vendor shall obtain certification at no additional cost to the government.
