Technical Requirements

- Configuration Control: Adherence to MIL-STD-973, Paragraph 5.4.8 for Engineering Change Proposals, Deviations, and Waivers. Submissions are to the Contracting Officer, NAVICP-MECH.
- Mercury Free: Strict requirements for materials to be free from metallic mercury and contamination, critical for submarine/surface ship use. Specific approval process required if mercury is a functional part.
- Quality Assurance: Contractor is responsible for all inspection requirements. A quality system acceptable to the Government, in accordance with ISO 9001, is required (MIL-I-45208 also accepted). Records of inspection must be maintained for four years.
- Packaging: Preservation, Packaging, Packing, and Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD 2073.
