Notice of Intent (NOI)

This document is a Notice of Intent (NOI) from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to award a sole source, firm-fixed priced contract to Caterpillar Inc. for a Compact Track Loader with Forestry attachments (CAT 275XE). This action is for commercial services under NAICS code 333120 and will utilize Simplified Acquisition procedures under FAR 13.501(a)(b).

• The CAT 275XE is preferred due to its hydraulic cooler, operator controls, and manufacturer support, minimizing downtime for repairs and parts.

• The Wildland Fire Branch already has three of these units in use, allowing for better standardization, safer operation, and fewer on-site delays.

• Standardization will enable easier movement of the loader to new areas and better utilization of specialized attachments.
