The Buy Indian Act of 1910 authorizes IHS and BIA to give preference to Indian-owned and controlled businesses for goods and services, promoting tribal economies and self-determination. In FY25, IHS awarded over $515 million (28.5% of eligible contract dollars) to Indian-owned economic enterprises.
