Quick Summary
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting a Sources Sought for market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing a 50 GHz Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). This effort aims to replace an existing end-of-life unit for NIST's antenna laboratory. The market research will inform the acquisition strategy, including the potential for a Small Business Set-Aside. Responses are due April 16, 2026, at 4:00 PM ET.
Purpose & Scope
NIST seeks information on vendors that can supply a single Vector Network Analyzer to replace its current Rohde and Schwarz model ZVA50, which has reached its end of service life. The new VNA must meet or exceed the specifications of the existing unit and integrate seamlessly with current equipment.
Key Requirements
The required VNA must operate from 10 MHz up to 50 GHz and feature:
- 4-test ports with 2.4 mm, male ruggedized connectors.
- Direct access to the IF, generator, and receiver via the front panel.
- Dedicated rear panel LO access for external mmWave frequency converters.
- On-board Time Domain (TDR) analysis capability.
- Integrated capability to support external Rohde and Schwarz mmWave frequency converters.
- A precision frequency reference with specified aging and temperature drift.
- A 2-way Wilkinson power divider operating from 4GHz to 27GHz. Extended warranty options, including a 2-year manufacturer warranty, 3-year extended calibration plan, and 3-year maintenance plan, are available.
Contract & Timeline
