Scope of Work

The material specified is QQ-N-281 CL B, Form 1, Annealed (hot finished), with the self-locking element conforming to D4066, Group 01, Class 1 or 2, Grade 1. Key requirements include:
- Manufacturing: Internal threads must be formed by cutting.
- Testing & Certification: Required for Dye Penetrant Inspection, Quality Conformance Tests, and First Article Testing (FAT). FAT can be satisfied by previous qualification or proof from a qualified source.
- Traceability: Complete traceability from material to certification test reports is mandatory for Level I/SUBSAFE systems, including marking per MIL-STD-792 and MIL-DTL-32258.
- Quality System: Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208) and calibration systems per ISO-10012 (or MIL-STD-45662).
- Compliance: Mercury-free materials, configuration control, and specific procedures for waivers, deviations, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) are required.
