Questions & Answers / Clarifications

• Generator Voltages & Configurations: Specific voltages and phase configurations are provided for generators at HQ (1 Phase 120/240 V), Pine Island (1 Phase 120/240 V), and Dan Beard Center (3 Phase 120/208 V).
• Conduit Reuse: Existing conduits, piping, raceways, and sleeves cannot be reused and new conduits are required.

• Certified Payrolls & Bonds: The project requires certified payrolls due to the Davis-Bacon Act and requires both Performance and Payment bonds.

Statement of Work (SOW)

To provide reliable emergency standby power for Everglades National Park facilities by replacing aging and non-functional generator systems.

• Removal and disposal of three existing standby emergency generator systems and associated components (fuel tanks, fuel lines, fencing, transfer switches).

• Purchase and installation of three new diesel-fueled standby emergency generator systems, sized to provide adequate emergency power for connected facilities. This includes replacing all system components such as air filtration, generator controls, fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems. Transfer switches will be replaced with new automatic switches.

• The new standby generator systems will be installed at:

  • Park Headquarters: 100KW
  • Daniel Beard Center: 75KW
  • Pine Island Maintenance office: 30KW

• Purchase of four new mobile/portable diesel generators, meeting specific performance and emissions standards (Tier 4 Final EPA-Certified).

• New standby generator systems must comply with current electrical codes (NEC).

• Mobile/portable generators must meet specified prime range (25-38 kW/kVA), fuel type (Diesel), frequency (60 Hz), speed (1800 RPM), emissions (Tier 4 Final), and sound levels (<= 71 dB(A) at 7m).

• Generators must have a minimum 3-year/3000-hour limited warranty.

• Fuel capacity for portable generators must support a minimum 88-gallon run time.

• Location: Everglades National Park, Homestead, Florida.

• Project schedule to be developed by the contractor and approved by the Contracting Officer (CO).

• Environmental compliance: Minimize site disturbance, avoid toxic chemicals, protect against soil erosion and habitats, and manage waste responsibly with recycling.
