Purpose & Scope
This project requires engineering and construction services (design-build) to replace the entire existing exterior facility water piping loop around the main buildings of the Carl T. Hayden VAMC due to failures and deterioration. The scope includes site investigations, design analysis, design, specifications, drawings, construction documents, materials, labor, equipment, supervision, and testing. Key tasks involve replacing approximately 13,000 linear feet of various pipe sizes (12", 10", 8", 6", 4"), installing shut-off valves, Water Hammer Arresters, valve boxes, and backflow preventers. The contractor will also upgrade the main hospital booster pump system, construct a small structure for new water treatment equipment, disconnect the water line from the parking garage loop, and install approximately eight tie-ins to VAMC structures. Removal of abandoned plumbing, electrical, wiring, and construction debris is also required, along with coordination with the City of Phoenix for tie-ins to city water mains.
Contract Details
