Scope of Work
The VA seeks to purchase, deliver, and install a tabletop, unit-dose medication packager, equivalent to Medical Packaging's Auto Print Plus Medication Packager, to improve pharmacy efficiency by automating oral medication packaging. Key salient characteristics for the packager include:
- Capable of packaging and printing in a single module with a built-in printer for clear text and scannable barcodes.
- Compact size (max 25" L x 11" W x 11" H) and lightweight (under 55 lbs).
- Adjustable packaging speeds (50-80 pouches per minute).
- Supports four pouch lengths (1", 1.25", 1.50", and 2") with a standard 2" width.
- Uses FDA-registered multi-layer packaging materials for light and moisture protection.
- English interface and energy-saving mode. The acquisition will be "Brand Name or Equal," requiring bidders to demonstrate how their product meets these salient characteristics. No remanufactured or gray market items are acceptable; vendors must be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, distributor, or reseller, providing an OEM authorization letter.
