This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for a Surgical Instrument Cart Washer for the VISN 10, Northern Indiana Healthcare System (NIHS) Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Fort Wayne, IN. The government intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Steris Corporation, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

The purchase order will include the following commercial equipment and services:

• Reliance 1227 Cart and Utensil Washer/Disinfector (480V, 60Hz, vented, Steam heated)

• Non-vented Drying System (1227)

• Cart Washer Container Rack

• Condensate Return to Drain 1227

• Deinstallation of existing Cart Washer

• Disposal of existing Cart/Tunnel Washer

• Installation of Reliance 1227 Cart Washer

• Installation of Acu-Hold Container System

• Addition of Condensate Return to Drain to Reliance 1227

• 1st Year Preventive Care for Reliance 1227 Cart Washer

• Shipping & Handling Charges

The procurement is being conducted under RFO Part 12 and RFO Part 6.103-2(a)(b) due to unusual and compelling urgency to replace critical equipment and GSAR 538.7104-3 because only one source (Steris Corporation) is capable of providing the unique or highly specialized supplies/services.
