Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This solicitation is for the replacement of sixty (60) motorized hospital bed frames for the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Unit at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. The requirement is for the frames only, as the facility will continue to use existing Joerns Dolphin Fluid Immersion System (FIS) surface mattresses. The procurement aims to provide newer technology for safer patient care and to decrease injury to patients and staff.

• Sixty (60) motorized hospital bed frames.

• Frames must meet or exceed all stated salient characteristics, including but not limited to:

  • Auxiliary power outlets
  • Expandable length (12" for 96" total surface length)
  • Support for single post trapeze
  • Three-sided electric brake and manual brake
  • Battery back-up
  • Integrated foley hook, restraint hooks, footbed pump holder
  • Automatic under-bed light
  • Motion Interrupt feature
  • Optional wireless capability with FDA 510K Approval
  • Pendant port for Autonomy System
  • Integrated touchscreen control panel (preferred)
  • Speakers for patient TV audio input
  • 3-position side rails (350 lbs capacity each)
  • Patient belongings holder, USB port, dual phone holders
  • Advanced siderail controls with caregiver presets
  • CPR release functionality
  • One-touch/any position scale with weight history and add/remove equipment feature
  • Bed exit feature (enabled/disabled from siderails or footboard)
  • Adaptive Bed Alarm
  • System to monitor unsafe bed configurations (preferred)
  • Low height of 14 inches with motorized drive
  • Stowable bed rails for easy egress
  • Motorized drive system
  • Accommodate mattress size of 35" x 84"
  • Dual 6-inch castors

• Removal and disposal of sixty (60) existing bed frames at no cost to the Government.

• Delivery, labor, assembly, and on-site education for engineering and nursing staff.

• One-year manufacturer's warranty.

• Contract Type: Firm-Fixed-Price.

• Performance Period: Delivery and installation to be completed within forty-five (45) days of award.

• Offers are due by June 5, 2026, 10:00 AM EDT.

• Quotes must be submitted electronically as a combined single PDF to Joseph.Locke@va.gov.

• Offerors must include a signed SF 1449, completed Section B.1 (Contract Administration Data), and Section B.2 (Price/Cost Schedule).
