Specific tasks include cleaning internal surfaces, air coolers, static exciters, rotors, fans, AC stators, DC commutating poles, AC and DC brush rigging, and support yokes. Replacement of gaskets, bearings, brushes, filters, and electrical connections is also required. Reconditioning of rotors, AC slip/collector ring assemblies, and AC field leads, along with torque checks, are part of the effort.

A Facility Security Clearance (FCL) of Confidential is required, along with the ability to safeguard Classified Information at the Confidential level. NAVSEA approval for in-place reconditioning of the SSMG Sets is mandatory, and documented proof must be provided with any proposal. Compliance with work authorization, tag-out, and safety requirements is essential. Contractors must submit a Conditions Found Report (CFR) and a Contractor Furnished Material Report (CFM).
