  • Painting Process: Encapsulating the aircraft, applying current paint scheme, insignia, and markings using rollers/brushes (T.O. 1-1-8) to achieve a 4.0-4.5 mil wet thickness. Specific primer (MIL-PFR-23377K) and topcoat (MIL-PRF-85285E) are required. Markings must match existing ones in size, color, and location. Unpainted surfaces, engine inlet covers, tires, and landing gear will also be painted. Work must comply with USAF Technical Orders, Barksdale AFB Environmental Requirements, National Museum of the USAF guidance, and all applicable Federal, State, County, and local regulations, including safety standards (OSHA, DEQ, DOT, EPA).
