Quick Summary
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) intends to issue a sole source contract to FIBA TECHNOLOGIES, INC. for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code Tube pressure vessels. This special notice is to inform the public of this intent and allow other interested organizations to submit their capabilities. Responses are due by May 8, 2026, at 3 p.m. CST.
Scope of Work
NASA/MSFC requires a total of 12 ASME Code Tube pressure vessels, configured as three sets of 4-pack configurations. Each individual vessel will have a maximum volume of approximately 60 cubic feet (water volume), with a combined total water volume of approximately 233 cubic feet per 4-pack. These vessels are to be delivered to MSFC in Huntsville, AL. A critical requirement is that the additional vessels must match those purchased in 2017, as the existing foundations were built based on drawings of the vessels previously supplied by FIBA Technologies.
Contract & Timeline
- Type: Special Notice (Intent to Sole Source)
- Rationale: Sole source justified under FAR subpart 13.5(a)(1)(ii) in accordance with 41 U.S.C.1901, due to the need for new vessels to match existing infrastructure and drawings from FIBA Technologies' 2017 supply. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
