Scope of Work
The contractor will provide a full range of Occupational Health Services at NASA AFRC, ensuring the safety and health of the workforce in compliance with regulations. The scope is divided into two main areas:
- Occupational Medicine (OM): Includes primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention activities; operation of an on-site Fitness Center; various medical examinations (e.g., Job Certification, FAA, DOT, Travel, Medical Surveillance, Occupational Illness/Injury, Preventive Health); health promotion and education; infection control; medical emergency response (including BLS and initial ACLS); AED program management; and medical support for commercial space vehicle simulation exercises and test landings. Pharmacy services are also included.
- Environmental Health (EH): Focuses on the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health hazards. This encompasses hazard communication, control of hazardous substances (e.g., Asbestos, Lead, Benzene), blood-borne pathogens, biosafety, additive manufacturing, reproductive health, hearing conservation, ergonomics, indoor air quality, thermal stress, ventilation, respiratory protection, UV safety, various radiation safety programs, vector-related disease, silica dust, food safety program oversight, cryogen safety, illumination, water quality, and hydrazine safety. Services specifically excluded are Employee Assistance Program (EAP), workplace drug testing, workers' compensation case management, and environmental management.
