Scope of Work
The selected contractor will serve as the primary celebrant for Catholic Masses and other liturgical and sacramental celebrations at the Hurlburt Field Chapel. Key responsibilities include:
- Celebrating Sunday Masses (0900-1000 and 1600-1700) with 60 minutes for confessions prior to each.
- Celebrating Weekday Masses (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 1130-1230; Wednesday 1630-1730) with 30 minutes for confessions prior to each.
- Performing Holy Day of Obligation Masses and other requested Sacramental celebrations (e.g., Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Baptism) and liturgical services (e.g., Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament).
- Ensuring services align with Roman Catholic Church tenets and Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) guidelines.
- Documenting all work for submission to the Wing Chaplain or designee.
Performance Requirements
Contractor personnel must be:
- An ordained Roman Catholic Priest in good standing with a Catholic Diocese or Religious Order in the U.S.
- Possess or acquire current faculties from AMS and a valid DD Form 2088 (Statement of Ecclesiastical Endorsement) within 60 days of contract award.
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak) and provide current credentials, ordination certificate, and a letter of good standing.
- Subject to a background check required for childcare providers.
- Reside within a 60-minute recall radius for emergency liturgical services.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and arrive timely for services.
