Scope of Work

The contractor will be responsible for the temporary removal and subsequent reinstallation of airfield runway and taxiway lights and signs at JBSA Lackland, Kelly Airfield. This includes:

  • Uninstalling and removing 60 raised lights on Runway 16/34, 38 raised lights near the Boeing ramp, and specific runway exit signs.
  • Laying down 6 signs on Taxiway E.
  • Replacing and restoring all lights and signs to original condition after B-52 aircraft arrivals, checks, test flights, and prior to departures.
  • Repairing any inoperable or damaged lights/signs during contract performance. Work will occur during daylight hours, 7 days a week, excluding federal holidays, with specific timelines for B-52 aircraft arrivals (June 2026 - January 2027) and departures (August 2028 - December 2029).
