- Material: Corrosion resistant steel (UNS S44003 or UNS S44004 per ASTM A276), Grade 10, density of .277 pound per cubic inch.
- Hardness: 58-65 HRC or equivalent.
- Dimensions: Basic Diameter .125000", allowable ball diameter variation of 10 millionths of an inch, allowable deviation from spherical form of 10 millionths of an inch.
- Surface Roughness: 1.0 millionths of an inch (ARITHMETICAL AVERAGE).
- Packaging: 1,000 pieces per bag.
Quality assurance requires a Material Certification and Certificate of Conformance or Certified Material Test Report (CMTR) for each shipment, detailing material, hardness, surface roughness, density, and part number. A First Article Test (FAT) of 10 units is required with each delivery order, with government testing covering "100% of all drawing characteristics."
