The material is a Critical Safety Item (CSI) requiring stringent quality control. Key requirements include:
- Extensive Testing & Certification: Mandatory ultrasonic inspection, macroetch tests, dye penetrant inspection (for cold worked material), and certifications for annealing and age hardening. Slow Strain Rate Tensile Tests must be performed by one of several specified laboratories.
