Scope of Work
This project aims to reduce live and dead Pinyon Pine and Juniper (PJ) fuels on approximately 200 acres. Key requirements include:
- Cutting and piling live PJ with a diameter breast height (DBH) ≤ 6 inches.
- Cutting and piling dead standing PJ with a DBH ≤ 12 inches.
- Cutting and piling all pre-existing surface fuels > 1 inch and ≤ 12 inches in diameter.
- Piles must be teepee-shaped, generally taller than wide (minimum 6 feet height), and free of dirt and trash.
- Specific placement requirements for piles, avoiding cultural resource areas, tree driplines, private property, and roads.
- Contractor must provide cutting equipment (hand-cutting tools only; no self-propelled cutters/chippers), transportation, and sanitary facilities.
- Equipment cleaning to prevent noxious weed spread and adherence to chainsaw noise restrictions (08:00 AM - 17:30 PM MST).
- Travel off roads/trails is restricted to foot only.
