Scope of Work

• Scheduling a site assessment and utility survey with Roanoke County, VA.
• Performing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) on the water system.
• Removing and disposing of the existing PIV and associated piping.
• Providing and installing a new 8-foot PIV and associated piping, ensuring it is an 8-inch barrel or valve body. The PIV is installed underground and uses a telescoping indicator.
• Reconnecting the system, restoring water pressure, and verifying no leaks.
• Confirming proper system water pressure.
• Excavation and backfill are required, with utility surveys coordinated.
• Filling, grading, and leveling all disturbed areas, followed by seeding with a specified BLRI grass seed mix.
• Cleaning up the work area and verifying the operation of the new PIV.

Key Requirements

All work and materials must be new, compatible with the existing system, and approved by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Compliance with NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 standards is mandatory. Qualified personnel experienced in commercial fire protection system inspection, maintenance, and valve replacement are required. OSHA guidelines for underground work must be followed. The contractor must furnish all necessary supervision, personnel, equipment, transportation, materials, and incidentals. A minimum 1-year warranty against defects and a 5-year warranty for workmanship are required.
