This document provides answers to vendor questions regarding the Boardwalk Materials solicitation, Amendment 1.

• Helical Piles Alternate: Helical piles are not an acceptable alternate to fiberglass due to corrosive soil conditions.
• Staff Access Gates: The "four-foot" dimension for the staff access gates refers to the width of the gate assembly itself, not the clear opening. Each gate will not be adjacent to each other.
• Abutment Materials: The solicitation is strictly for materials only. Concrete and formwork materials required for casting abutments are not included in the material supply scope, as per SOW Section I.A.3 and the drawing set details.

This Q&A clarifies specific material requirements and acceptable alternates, directly impacting bidder understanding of the scope for gates and abutments. No changes to deadlines or submission rules are indicated.

Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This solicitation is for the procurement of boardwalk materials for the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in Brigham City, UT. This is a materials-only requirement; no services are required. The solicitation is set aside exclusively for small business concerns.

• Integral railing: 316 stainless steel handrail, posts, cables, support brackets, and hardware, including a toe board, meeting ABA/ADA requirements. Two four-foot gates are required on each side of the west boardwalk.

• Lighting system: A complete LumenPod 16 by Wagner (or approved equal) lighting system on the boardwalk handrail, including all parts, labor, and materials for a complete working system. Lights must be corrosion-resistant, night sky compliant, LED, 2700K or amber, ETL listed for wet/dry locations, 24V/100W power requirement, and rated for outdoor use meeting IP54 ratings.

• Boardwalk decks: PermaTrak beachwood texture (or equal) with specific requirements for uniform loading, compressive strength, interlocking sections, and a ten-year warranty.

• Purchase piles: 12" fiberglass composite driven piles (or equivalent) with a minimum 20' embedment depth. Specific quantities for west and east boardwalks are provided.

• Contract Type: Firm-Fixed Priced Contract.

• Period of Performance: Estimated from 05/15/2026 to 09/15/2026.

• Delivery: FOB Destination, by 09/15/2026.
