Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, on behalf of the US Space Force, is conducting a Sources Sought for market research to identify capable vendors for the Buckley SFB Rectifier Inverter System Replacement in Aurora, CO. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Responses are due by April 2, 2026.
Purpose
This Sources Sought aims to gather information from industry to identify qualified vendors and obtain feedback for the complete replacement of the rectifier/inverter system at the US Space Force Buckley Space Force Base DISA node facility (Building 730, Room 132). The existing system sustained significant damage due to a major water main break.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for the full replacement of the existing rectifier/inverter/power distribution system. This includes new battery strings, battery disconnects, and A/C power circuits. The system provides stable, reliable power for DoD long-haul communications by converting commercial, generator, and uninterruptable power supplies to direct current (DC).
Key Requirements include:
- A complete replacement system meeting or exceeding 2,800 amps (200 amps x 14 units).
- Batteries equivalent to or better than C&D Technologies MS Endur II (3 strings with 48 jars per string).
- Battery disconnects equivalent to or better than Peco II, -48v 1800 amp units.
- New power distribution to the DC breaker panel (loads A, B, C, D) from commercial, battery, and generator sources, meeting or exceeding Lorain Power System Model 1231v1.
- Power must feed into sectors A, B, C, D, E, and F of the DC breaker panel.
- The inverter system must accommodate existing DC breaker panels and A/C circuits.
