Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), specifically the Laboratory for Autonomous Systems Research (LASR), is conducting a Sources Sought to identify capable sources for Digital Twin Modeling & Software. This effort aims to create a high-fidelity digital twin of the LASR facility, its equipment, and platforms to support research in robotic and autonomous systems (RAS), communication and navigation, human-robot interaction, and machine learning. Responses are due June 15, 2026.
Scope of Work
The required digital twin will accurately model and simulate physical environments and assets within the LASR facility, enabling researchers to simulate RAS behaviors in realistic digital environments for controlled exploration and extensive test and evaluation. Key requirements, as detailed in the Statement of Work (SOW), include:
- Development using NVIDIA Omniverse Digital Tools and Environment.
- Modeling of four distinct LASR environments: Desert High Bay (DHB), Littoral High Bay (LHB), Prototyping High Bay (PHB), and Tropical High Bay (THB).
- Modeling of commercially available RAS platforms, including at least one ground and one underwater vehicle, with accurate physical properties and dynamics.
- Development of tools, plug-ins, and microservices for configuration, testing, and simulation.
- Provision of comprehensive technical and user documentation.
- Validation of model performance to ensure virtual environment behaviors approximate real-world performance, with delivery in OpenUSD format.
