Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) for Dismounted, Man-portable, Handheld, Counter-Unmanned Systems (MPHC). The purpose is to gain a comprehensive understanding of current technology, available solutions, and vendor capabilities to detect, track, identify, and defeat hostile drones. The outcome may include an Industry Day or Demonstration Day. Responses are due May 26, 2026.
Scope of Work

- Functionality: Seamless integration with existing small arms tactics for effective engagement of stationary and moving UmS threats, increasing the probability of threat-ending hits.
- Target Engagement: Ability to prioritize and engage multiple UmS threats, including Group 1-2 UmS and drone swarms.
- Performance: Detect, track, identify, and defeat UmS with low radar cross-sections, in cluttered environments, and low-light conditions.
- Compatibility: Integration with existing and future base defense systems; compatibility with Joint or DAF owned equipment.
- Durability & Maintenance: Adherence to strict military durability standards and ease of maintenance.
- Mobility: Minimal impact on Airman or Guardian mobility.
