Dry-Dock: USCGC VENTUROUS FY26 DD

Amendment / Modification

This amendment provides answers to vendor-submitted questions regarding the solicitation for the USCGC VENTUROUS FY26 DD. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged.

• Work Item D-003 (Hull Plating Freeboard, Preserve): Flight Deck nets are considered interference. Weight testing is only required if nets are disturbed. Frames can be removed and reinstalled without a weight test.
• Work Item D-004 (Appendages (U/W), Preserve): Disregard "Guards Numerous, P/S." Dispose of drained liquids according to Federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Work Item D-006 (Voids (Non-Accessible), Preserve): Chain does not need to be fully removed from the chain locker; it can be lowered to the DD floor by ship's force.
• Work Item D-033 (Transverse Frames, Renew): The requirement for "Repair 8 Linear feet of hull plating" should be interpreted as approximately 8 square feet (1ft x 8ft).
• Work Item D-035 (Sewage System Piping, Renewal): The piping to be renewed is 3 inch CUNI.
• Work Items D-037 & D-040 (Auxiliary Machinery Space Stiffeners, Renewal & Sea Chest Plating, Renewal): Vessels should come in with minimum fuel. For item 37, the S-7 is not located near potable water pumps and does not cross bulkhead 156. For item 40, work will occur on the Port Sea Chest; plating renewal will be based on CFR submitted under 3.2.
• Work Items 17, 18, and 38 (Stern tube preservation, CPP clean and inspect):
  • WI 17 (Stern tube interior preservation): Both sides.
  • WI 18 (CPP clean and inspect): Both sides.
  • WI 38 (Stern tube exterior preservation): STBD only.

No changes to proposal deadlines or submission requirements are indicated, beyond the need to incorporate these clarifications into proposals.

Amendment / Modification

This amendment incorporates Revision 1, dated May 1, 2026, of Attachment 2 (Specification for Work). The revision specifically modifies Work Item 39 to include cropping and renewing 30 linear feet of S-3 and S-4 Stiffeners on the port side between frames 188-196 in the Steering Gear Room (Compartment 4-188-0-6).

Additionally, this amendment extends the deadline for questions to May 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time, and extends the Solicitation Close date to May 18, 2026, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.
