- Routine maintenance, bug fixes, security updates, and capability/performance level maintenance.

- Knowledge preservation through system documentation and data backup. Performance standards include strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for availability (>= 99.9%), throughput, and file transfer speeds, with penalties for non-compliance.
