- Comprehensive Motor Rebuild: Full inspection, cleaning, testing, minor repair (e.g., bearing/seal replacement), reassembly, and final testing to restore the motor to original operating specifications.
- Electric Motor Rewind: Complete replacement of stator windings and associated insulation, including core loss testing, manufacturing and installing new NEMA-compliant windings, and winding encapsulation via Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) – standard dip-and-bake is unacceptable.
- Technical Specifications: Utilization of a Class H (180°C) or higher insulation system and dynamic rotor balancing to a G2.5 specification or better.
- Additional Tasks: Bearing and seal upgrades, installation of magnetic bearing isolators, and application of a high-performance, corrosion-resistant epoxy paint.
- Compliance: EASA AR100 compliance is required. The motor shop must demonstrate capability to legally rebuild hazardous designed motors.
- Place of Performance: Contractor's off-base repair facility, located within a 120-mile radius of the OC-ALC.
