Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, and services to perform the camshaft and rocker arm assembly replacement on the Starboard S60 Engine. Specific tasks include:

  • Removal of all interferences to access and replace the S60 camshaft, one rocker arm assembly, and the #1-cylinder injector.
  • Removal and reinstallation of the valve cover and gearcase housing cover.
  • Replacement of the camshaft, the #1 rocker arm assembly, and the #1-cylinder injector.
  • Torquing all fasteners and sealing the gearcase housing cover according to MTU specifications.
  • Timing and tuning the engine in accordance with MTU specifications.
  • Conducting a sea trial to ensure repairs are acceptable to the Station EPO.

Special Requirements

  • All work must be performed exclusively by MTU-certified technicians with official MTU training for the specified engine series.
  • Only genuine MTU Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and consumables are permitted.
  • Subcontracting is strictly prohibited. The authorized service provider is solely responsible for all work.
  • Technicians must provide credentials for access to the USCG facility at Station Ketchikan.
  • Failure to adhere to these requirements may void the engine's warranty and compromise operational integrity and safety.
