Scope of Work
The contractor shall furnish all labor, parts, tools, paint, equipment, appliances, transportation, and materials to perform a complete renovation. Key tasks include:
- Structural Assessment & Repair: Inspect airframes for corrosion, damage, and water intrusion, providing a report to the contracting officer. Repair security devices on canopies, hatches, and panels, evaluate and repair bird-proofing measures, and secure retractable landing gears and doors.
- Mounting & Support: Fabricate and install plinths to support aircraft weight and lift tires off the ground. Replace deteriorating aircraft tires.
- Restoration & Painting: Encase horizontal stabilizers in sheet metal to prevent delamination. Prepare surfaces by removing paint and corrosion, and repairing dents. Prime all surfaces with specified yellow epoxy corrosion resistant primer, apply non-chromate automotive topcoat paint, and apply final details (stripes, decals) for historical accuracy. Apply ultra-violet clear coat protective sealant.
- Compliance & Safety: Perform work in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), international, federal, state, and local building codes, Air National Guard Engineering Technical Letters (ANGETL), and Technical Orders (TO). Develop and provide a safety plan, and comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
