Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for the complete design, supply, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of a new CO detection system. This includes:
- Designing and installing CO detectors compliant with NFPA standards and fully compatible with the existing Edwards EST3 system.
- Delegated design by a qualified engineer, ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes (e.g., International Building Code, NFPA, Life Safety Code, OSHA, American Correctional Association Standards).
- Coordinating design for seamless integration with the existing FDAS.
- Submitting design documents, calculations, and shop drawings for FBOP review and approval.
- Placing detectors in specific areas such as sleeping areas, enclosed parking garages, boiler/mechanical rooms, and areas with potential CO-emitting appliances.
- Providing all necessary installation components, wiring, and mounting hardware.
- Ensuring the system is addressable, provides specific alarm thresholds per NFPA 720, and includes audible/visual alarms, status indicators, and self-diagnostics.
- Providing post-construction certification and full functional testing, including CO level simulation.
