Quick Summary
The Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC (BEA), operating the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Idaho National Laboratory (INL), is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Fire Barrier Repair Services. This Sources Sought initiative aims to identify qualified vendors to maintain fire protection standards and facility safety across designated INL facilities. Responses will inform the development of a formal solicitation list, with selected vendors potentially invited to a future Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
Scope of Work
The required services involve the repair and restoration of fire-rated barriers within INL facilities to meet regulatory requirements. The scope includes:
- Inspection and assessment of existing fire barriers that do not meet code.
- Repair or replacement of damaged fire-rated walls, doors, and penetrations.
- Application of approved firestop materials and sealants.
- Ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and DOE fire protection requirements.
- Documentation and verification of repairs for quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Construction work at the INL Site (890-square mile boundary) is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act and the INL Site Stabilization Agreement (SSA) for contracts exceeding $2,000. Work at Idaho Falls facilities is exempt from these agreements.
