This combined synopsis/solicitation (Request for Quotation - RFQ) seeks a contractor to repair a damaged commutator on Motor Number 2 at the Folsom Pumping Plant. Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Motor Repair: Disconnecting, picking up, and transporting the damaged motor to a repair facility. This includes removing the exciter assembly, replacing the damaged commutator, installing a new one, reinstalling the armature, and dynamically balancing it for smooth operation.
- Testing and Inspection: Conducting comprehensive tests such as exciter output, brush monitoring, vibration analysis, voltage and amp readings, bearing temperature monitoring, insulation resistance (IR) testing, High Potential (Hi-Pot) testing, winding resistance testing, polarization index (PI) testing, surge testing, core loss testing, and no-load/full-load testing.
- Delivery & Alignment: Delivering the fully repaired motor back to the Folsom Pumping Plant and ensuring proper pump motor alignment for optimal performance.
- Documentation & Warranty: Providing reports summarizing test results following motor repair and alignment. A warranty of 365 days from installation or 720 run hours, whichever occurs first, covering defects in materials and workmanship, is required.
