Quick Summary
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has issued a Sources Sought notice regarding the Family of Tactical Helmet Systems (FTHS) Ballistic Helmets program. This notice is for informational purposes only, announcing the intent to extend the current Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract (H9240319D0003) with Gentex Corporation for an additional 12 months. The extension is necessary to allow time for an ongoing 10 USC 4022 Other Transaction Authority (OTA) for Prototype Project competition. USSOCOM is seeking capability statements from all responsible sources. Responses are due by June 10, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
USSOCOM intends to extend the ordering period of the existing FTHS IDIQ contract with Gentex Corporation until August 10, 2027. This 12-month extension is critical to accommodate the timeline of the ongoing OTA Prototype Project competition (SAM.gov Notice ID H9240324R00XX092324) for FTHS Ground Ballistic Helmets. The ultimate goal is to award a follow-on production contract to a successful performer identified through the OTA competition.
