Quick Summary
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is soliciting proposals for the renewal of Genomics Information Management System (GIMS) licenses, associated support, and infrastructure upgrades. This requirement aims to ensure the continued operation and modernization of the Scientific Laboratory Information Management System (SLIMS) for the FDA's Whole Genome Sequencing Program (WGS). The government anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order. Quotes are due June 19, 2026, by 3 PM ET.
Scope of Work
This opportunity involves two primary components:
- License Renewal: Renewal of 15 Named User SLIMS licenses and 3 Extra Server licenses to support the GIMS application.
- Infrastructure Upgrade: Modernization of the infrastructure processing the GIMS application to version 6.9, including migration of slimsgate-fda and API changes.
Key functional requirements for the licenses and system include LIMS, ELN, ELS applications, configuration for onsite/cloud/large-entity use, microbial regulatory environments, workflow and centralized data management, sample and compliance tracking (ISO/GAMP5), audit trails, eSignature (21 CFR Part 11), sequencing/robotics/QA/QC integration, scalability, SSO/MFA, and adherence to FDA IT Security Requirements. The solution must be compatible with the current GIMS architecture without lag time and support onsite analysis and cloud computation. Engineering integration support is also required to ensure licenses interface with existing FDA systems and coordinate with cloud-based servers and the local GIMS Server Unix Administrator.
