• Base Yards and Staging Areas: These areas must be kept free of invasive pests and may be inspected regularly.
• Cutting Tools: Tools used for cutting trees or branches must be sanitized to prevent the spread of Rapid 'Ōhiʻa Death (ROD).
• Prohibited Items: Imported firewood, logs, and 'ōhiʻa parts are generally not allowed unless sourced from a park-approved site free of invasive species.
• Field Work Protocols: Personnel working in the field must inspect and clean their clothing, gear, and equipment before and after fieldwork.

Scheduling Inspections: Requests for inspections must be made via email at least 3 business days in advance to Kim_Dillman@nps.gov or Stacey_Torigoe@nps.gov, including specific details about vehicles and equipment. Failure to obtain inspection may result in denial of entry or removal from the park.
