Quick Summary
The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) is hosting an Industry Day on May 14, 2026, in San Diego, CA, to conduct market research for the planned procurement of two low-profile aircraft tow tractors. These tractors will support F/A-18E/F Super Hornet towing operations in constrained hangar, flight line, and maintenance/production environments.
Purpose
This event aims to communicate validated operational requirements, assess commercially available industry solutions, evaluate technical feasibility and vendor capabilities, and strengthen acquisition planning through direct collaboration with qualified vendors. FRCSW seeks ideas and solutions for low-profile, high-maneuverability, safety-compliant aircraft tow tractor systems that meet operational, dimensional, performance, sustainment, and mission-readiness requirements, with a focus on F/A-18E/F ground handling.
Event Details & Logistics
The Industry Day will take place at Naval Air Station North Island. Participants must check in at the Naval Base Coronado Visitor Control Center (VCC) between 0800-0830 PST. The day includes welcome remarks, a tour of FRCSW and current tow tractors, lunch, and an open forum Q&A session. Attendees will be bused from the VCC to the FRCSW meeting location. Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs) will be provided if required, and participants must wear flat, closed-toe, closed-heel shoes.
Registration & Vetting
All participants must register in advance by notifying the FRCSW Points of Contact (POCs) via email, referencing “FY26 FRCSW Aircraft Tow Tractors” in the subject line. An FRCSW Form 5512/5 must be submitted for each vendor attending, listing all company participants. This form must be returned to the POCs via email no later than May 12, 2026, to allow for base access vetting. Space is limited.
