Quick Summary
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) has issued an Innovative Solutions Opening (ISO) for the Intelligent Generator of Research (IGoR) program. This initiative seeks to create an AI-enabled interoperable research ecosystem to accelerate the development of effective therapies for complex diseases. ARPA-H anticipates awarding multiple Other Transaction (OT) Agreements over a 5-year period. Solution Summaries are due June 25, 2026, and Proposals are due August 6, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
The IGoR program aims to eliminate longstanding inefficiencies in research by developing an AI-enabled ecosystem that can accelerate validated knowledge creation at least 10x faster than conventional approaches. This involves four core components:
- Mechanistic disease models encoding causal biological relationships.
- An AI orchestration layer to identify knowledge gaps and design optimal experiments.
- A layered protocol architecture for reproducible experiments.
- A distributed marketplace of validated laboratories for standardized protocol execution and gold-standard data return. The program is structured into three phases over five years, focusing on health R&D services (PSC AN13).
