Contractor Requirements

Contractors must possess current California State C16 Fire Protection Contractor Certification. Key personnel requirements include providing one Journeyman level Sprinkler Fitter and one apprentice in their final stage of apprenticeship for each visit. Routine inspections will also require an additional Fire Alarm technician to manage the fire alarm control panel. All personnel working in asbestos-containing areas (e.g., Building 1) must have 16-hour asbestos training certificates and valid respirator fit test certifications. Compliance with VA safety standards, NFPA codes (NFPA-99, NFPA-101, NFPA-25), OSHA, and other relevant industry standards is mandatory.

Additional Notes

Work is generally expected during normal hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Pacific time), with any work outside these hours requiring COR approval. The facility will remain functional, requiring minimal interference with Government operations. Invoicing will be monthly in arrears via electronic submission to the Financial Services Center.
