Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office 21 (NCO 21), is conducting a Sources Sought market research effort to identify qualified contractors capable of providing ice machine cleaning and sanitation services for the VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) in Fresno, CA. This is not a solicitation, and no contract will be awarded directly from this announcement. The information gathered will help the VA determine its procurement strategy. Responses are due by 10:00 AM PDT on April 23, 2026.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for quarterly cleaning and sanitization services for approximately 17 ice machines located across various VACCHCS facilities. Services must adhere to manufacturer's six-month and monthly cleaning procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing supply lines. The contractor will be responsible for replacing chutes, trays, and other plastic items (Government-provided) and repairing any parts damaged during cleaning. All work must be performed "in place" without interfering with area operations, primarily Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding Federal Holidays. Specific servicing times are required for certain locations (Starbucks, Canteen, Infusion Clinic). Performance standards include using OEM or equivalent, NSF-approved chemicals, reporting negative findings to the COR, and returning machines to service by close of business on the same day. A legible service report and machine sticker are required upon completion. Detailed procedures are outlined in the attached SOP 138M-25-020 Ice Machine Preventive Maintenance Procedures.
