Scope of Work

The contractor will replace two unserviceable 12-ton Trane Performance Climate Changer AHUs (Model UCCAA08C0J0RH032000000EAY00BB0000000B) in Building 500. No equivalent equipment will be accepted, and equipment lead time must not exceed 8 weeks. Key tasks include:

  • Recovering existing refrigerant and rigging services for old and new AHUs.
  • Disposing of units and materials (salvage rights reserved by Government).
  • Providing labor and copper solder/brazed piping for new AHUs, including re-insulation.
  • Installing specific components per AHU: Y-Strainer, Circuit Center, Actuator, Hoffman Auto purge.

Evaluation Criteria

  • SP1: Offeror or subcontractor must hold a C-20 Warm Air Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Contractor license from the California Contractors State License Board.
  • SP2: Provide at least three references from VA Medical facilities or other government agencies for similar services. Commercial references are acceptable if fewer than three government references are available.

Additional Requirements

  • Contractor personnel may require background investigations at the contractor's expense.
  • Mandatory insurance coverage includes Workers' Compensation, Employer's Liability ($100,000 min), General Liability ($500,000 per occurrence), and Automobile Liability ($200,000/$500,000/$20,000). Certification required.
