Joint Service General Protective Masks M50, M51, and M53A1

Request for Information (RFI)

This RFI seeks to determine industry capabilities for producing the Joint Service General Protective Mask (JSGPM) family, including the M50, M51, M53, and M53A1 mask systems, and their spare components. The U.S. Government (USG) is planning for potential contract awards for Fiscal Years 2027-2031 and is gathering information to aid this planning effort.

The USG is assessing industry's ability to:

• Produce new M50, M51, and M53A1 mask systems in accordance with attached performance specifications.
• Produce spare components for M50, M51, M53, and M53A1 mask systems in accordance with attached performance specifications.
• Produce the M53 gasket (NSN: 5330-01-530-1002) to support fielded M53 mask systems.

Respondents are requested to address:

• How their company can compete without a complete Technical Data Package (TDP) and what information would be required.

• Experience in manufacturing and providing CBRN mask systems and related components.

• Past and current contracts related to CBRN items and mask systems.

• Experience with military markings (MIL-STD-129).

• Current quality system and certifications.

• Experience with source-controlled components.

• Estimated delivery timelines for mask systems and spare components after contract award.

• Minimum, normal, and maximum sustainable monthly production rates.

• A list of components the company can manufacture or provide.

• Electronic responses are required in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Adobe Acrobat formats.

• Responses must be submitted no later than 1430 EST on June 12, 2026.

This RFI seeks to determine industry capabilities for producing and providing spare components for the Joint Service General Protective Mask (JSGPM) family, including the M50, M51, M53, and M53A1 mask systems. The U.S. Government (USG) is planning for potential contract awards for Fiscal Years 2027-2031 and aims to identify sources capable of meeting requirements without significant cost duplication or delay.

The USG is interested in industry's ability to:

• Produce new M50, M51, and M53A1 mask systems according to attached performance specifications.
• Produce spare components for M50, M51, M53, and M53A1 mask systems according to attached performance specifications.

Respondents are requested to address:

• How they can compete without a complete Technical Data Package (TDP) and what information they would require.

• Potential needs for technical data or Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) to refine offerings.

• Experience in manufacturing and providing CBRN mask systems and related components.

• Past and current contracts related to CBRN items and mask systems.

• Similar mask systems or enhancements sold to government agencies (federal, state, local, foreign) and international usage.

• Estimated lead times for delivering M50, M51, and M53A1 systems for production verification testing after contract award.

• Production schedules and monthly production rates (minimum, normal, maximum).

• A list of components they can manufacture/provide per mask system.

• Experience with military markings (MIL-STD-129).

• Current quality system and certifications.

• Experience with source-controlled components.
