KC-46A ARO/Receiver/Engineering Virtual Reality Simulator

To procure a Virtual Reality Simulator for the KC-46A Air Refueling Operator (ARO)/Receiver/Engineering, intended for test and training scenarios.

• Develop and provide a system with virtual reality rendering and physical user interfaces for both a KC-46A ARO station and a KC-46A receiver aircraft (pilot station).

• Create a physical interface for the 418th FLTS special instrumentation pallet in the Air Refueling Certification (ARC) configuration, requiring contractor collaboration with 418th FLTS engineers.

• Implement a server to merge interactions between the ARO, receiver pilot, and engineering stations within a virtual environment, utilizing realistic physics modeling for training specific Air Refueling maneuvers. The server will not connect to commercial internet.

• Integrate a communications system for a closed-loop network connecting the ARO, receiver pilot, and engineering stations to replicate airborne communication patterns.

• Incorporate accurate aerodynamic models for boom and receiver aircraft motion.

• Ensure the system can integrate with other similar USAF systems.

• The system must integrate with the software used by current 418th FLTS engineers (IADS).

• The system must be capable of securely transmitting and receiving CUI information.
