Scope of Work
This opportunity requires the design, fabrication, and delivery of two working platforms for the LBNF Horn Test Stand. Key requirements include:
- Capacity: Must support 4 working technicians (approximately 1000 lbs).
- Safety Features: Two inward-opening, spring-loaded safety gates and a 42-inch high guard rail above the walk surface. The total structure height must not exceed 144 inches.
- Dimensions: Maximum envelope of 33 inches width, 204 inches length, 40 inches height for the platform surface, and 104 inches overall height.
- Materials: Lightweight materials are preferred, such as aluminum frames with composite grating, provided they meet load requirements. Acceptable material specifications include AISC Manual of Steel Construction, Metal Bar Grating Manual, or Composite Grating.
- Finish: Platforms must be painted safety yellow; powder coating is advantageous. Aluminum components cannot be galvanized.
- Anchoring: Designed to be anchored to the ground, with base plates featuring four holes for Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ2 Wedge 1/2" ground anchors.
- Assembly: Platforms can be delivered in smaller assemblies for final assembly at Fermilab.
- Environment: Strictly for indoor use, with no exposure to chemicals or salt.
