Qualification Details

Fit reasons
  • NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
  • Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
  • Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
  • Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps

Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.

Quick Summary

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (PM CAS), is conducting market research to identify potential sources for manufacturing and delivering M762A1/M767A1 Electronic Time (ET) Fuzes, M782A1 Multi-Option Fuze for Artillery Increment 2 (MOFA II), and M734A1 Multi-Option Fuze for Mortars/M783 Point Detonating/Delay Mortar Fuzes. This market survey aims to assess industry capability to meet production rates for FY28-FY32 funding requirements. Responses are due by May 14, 2026.

Scope of Work

This Sources Sought notice seeks capable sources within the United States or Canada for the production of various fuzes and their variants:

  • M762A1/M767A1 ET Fuzes: Provide electronic time and point detonating functions for 105mm and 155mm artillery projectiles, with settings from 0.5 to 199.9 seconds. M762A1 is for cargo-carrying, M767A1 for bursting ammunition.
  • M782A1 MOFA II: Performs proximity, precision time, impact, and delay functions for bulk-filled bursting artillery projectiles (105mm and 155mm), inductively settable.
  • M734A1/M783 Fuzes: M734A1 offers proximity (60/81 PRX, 120 PRX), impact, and delay functions; M783 is a lower-cost variant with PD and delay. Used on 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm High Explosive and White Phosphorous Smoke Cartridges.

Respondents can propose for single, two, or all three fuze combinations.

Required Capabilities & Production Rates

The Government requires sources capable of:

  • M762A1/M767A1: 14,000 per month (surge up to 28,000/month).
  • M782A1 MOFA II: 4,000 per month (ramp up to 6,000/month, surge up to 8,000/month).
  • M734A1/M783: 20,000 per month (ramp up as needed).

Submission Requirements

Interested sources must provide evidence of:

  • Technical Expertise: With M762A1/M767A1, M782A1, and/or M734A1/M783 to propose design solutions, address obsolescence, and reflect enhancements in the Technical Data Package (TDP).
  • Manufacturing Capability: Projected monthly delivery, ability to meet required and surge production rates, and past manufacturing experience.
  • Lead Time: Estimated time for First Article Testing (FAT) samples and first production lot delivery.
  • Infrastructure: Description of facilities, equipment, processes, inspection, classified data handling, personnel, and safety clearances for energetic materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Evidence to support the production plan.
  • Company Information: Name, address, CAGE code, contact details, and business size (e.g., Large, Small, WOSB).

Responses are limited to 30 pages, must not contain classified information, and should identify any proprietary data.
