Key Requirements & Restrictions

The project requires compliance with all federal, state, and local criteria, including the NYSDEC Water Quality Certificate (WQC). A mechanical dredge with an environmental clamshell bucket is likely required. Seasonal dredging restrictions apply:

  • Prohibited from March 1 through June 30 (spawning fish).
  • Prohibited in areas with water depths of -20 feet MLW or less from January 1 to May 31 (winter flounder).
