Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and tools to:

  • Supply and install one (1) new Tensile Tester.
  • Remove the existing Instron 5584 tester.
  • Ensure the new Tensile Tester meets the detailed Salient Characteristics.

Key Requirements

The Tensile Tester must have a minimum static force capacity of 150 KN, an extra-height load frame, and include 150 kN and 50 kN static load cells. It requires a comprehensive software suite for control, test method development, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting, with user-friendly operation and custom report generation. Onsite crosshead speed of 12”/min and displacement of 105" (with certificate of compliance) are required, along with a minimum 24” distance between twin columns. The system must include a minimum one-year comprehensive warranty and two years of priority technical support/software updates. Rigging is included in the vendor's responsibility. Installation must be performed by a factory-trained and certified Service Engineer, including system introduction, safety overview, and detailed software instruction for up to four operators. Onsite force verification (ASTM E4) in tension and compression across the 0-150 KN range is also required. The existing Instron machine to be removed is 138 inches high and weighs 2,420 lbs.
