Scope of Work
The contractor will provide certified medical gas inspectors to perform thorough inspections and testing of the VA San Diego Healthcare System's medical gas distribution system. Key tasks include:
- Verification of all medical gas systems, including patient terminal outlets/inlets, alarm systems (master, area, local), shut-off valves (zones, isolation, service, source, main), and source equipment.
- Conducting positive and negative pressure medical gas tests and inspections in accordance with current NFPA 99 Healthcare Facilities Code and ASSE 6000 requirements.
- Performing specific tests such as Standing Pressure, Cross-connection, Valve, Alarms, Piping Purge, Piping Particulates, Piping Purity, Medical Air Purity, and monthly tests of area alarms, master alarms, and associated components.
- Checks on medical air compressors, vacuum pumps, pressure gauges, and cryogenic fluid supply systems.
- Re-certification of any previous changes made to the medical gas system as directed by NFPA 99.
- Providing approximately 200 hours of labor for repairs to maintain optimal system condition.
- Offering on-site service calls for repairs and malfunctions, with parts and shipping not to exceed $2,000.00 per annum.
- Delivering electronic and paper reports detailing all findings, certifications, actions taken, and recommendations.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price
- Period of Performance: One base year (May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027) with four one-year option periods, potentially extending through April 30, 2031.
