This solicitation is for a "BRAND name" requirement for one (1) Medrad Mark 7 Arterion Contrast Media Injection System, configured on a mobile pedestal, for use in OR7 at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. The system is needed to restore contrast injection capability for vascular and interventional procedures and must integrate with the existing GE Allia IGS 740 imaging system.

• One (1) Medrad Mark 7 Arterion Injection System – Pedestal (ART700 PEDL) or equivalent.

• GE Allia-compatible synchronization cable (PN 87011518).

• Required accessories (power cabling, pedestal hardware, injector head cabling).

• On-site operational setup and functional verification.

• Clinical user training session and Biomedical Engineering orientation.

• Delivery of all technical manuals and warranty documentation.

Justification for Single Source Award

This document provides the justification for a single-source award for a Medrad® Mark 7 Arterion Injection System with installation for the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System (VAPAHCS). The system is required for programmable contrast media injection capabilities in the operating room for angiography and interventional procedures.

The Medrad Mark 7 Arterion Injection System is required due to its unique characteristic of integrating with the existing GE Allia IGS 740 imaging system via the Original Equipment Manufacturer's synchronization interface. No other injection systems are compatible with the current imaging setup.

Market research included searches of the Small Business Administration database, NAC, SCMC, and Adds Up. While searches for small businesses and NAC/SCMC yielded no applicable results, the Adds Up search identified open market awards for the Medrad Mark 7 Arterion Injection System from Bayer Healthcare LLC (OEM), a large business, and 1st American Medical Distributors Inc (an SDVOSB).
